right to fire an employee based on what he or she posts on these social networking websites.

People should be extremely aware of what the post on these websites, whether good or bad, anyone can see everything. Everything posted on his or her website should be appropriate because the employer has every right to fire the employee. You wouldn’t want your employees posting pictures and blogs about their crazy fun weekend getting overly intoxicated and probing their veins with that “fun stuff” called heroin. An employee represents a company by how he or she presents himself whether it be on these social networking websites how they carry themselves public.

Many assumptions are made about companies based off how people see employees. If someone sees what company that person is working for they will talk down about it giving it a bad reputation based of what they saw from this persons social profile. Employees must represent their employers in a good way so that the companies name doesn’t not become poisoned and summed up by one wrong picture the secretary posted.

In conclusion, the people who post these things are completely responsible for what ever action is taken against them. These individuals are posting their information for anyone and everyone in the entire world to see. The employer has every right to look at it and take what ever action is necessary against the employee. Don’t post private stuff if you don’t want anyone to see anything, don’t post it on the internet where it can be viewed by the general public. If you do want people to say then you deserve everything consequence given to you.
