Twitter’s reaction to the threat of Face book

Twitter reacted in a way that it refused $500 in stock and cash offered by Face book in the middle of a recession because Twitter’s founder and CEO Evan William was near building out twitter as a service or a business and it has lot to do with the real time news feed that Twitter had become plus he wasn’t willing to work under someone’s leadership. This also indicates that both Face book and Twitters were eyeing to be a standout leader in the micro blogging social networking sites.

Google’s Fear with Facebook and Twitter

Google is the site plus a search engine that organizes information but facebook and Twitter is the site that organizes information and connects people as well. Face book and twitter had more effective and versatile features that Google is incompatible of. Hence, it’s Google that should be more worried about both. If the last round of the Web was about organizing information, Web 2.0 is about organizing people.

Conclusion

From this case we came to know that change in competitive environment is the major cause of rivalry between competing firms and accordingly the strategy of the business of various competing firms is impacted upon. Only those firm can Lead and stand out well in the market who have their versatile and effective strategic plans and strategies. Here Face book and Twitter have been no doubt leaders in social networking sites because their strategies of providing different, more user friendly and versatile options than any other networking sites and that even counts Google which is currently rated number one search engine site.
