- Patriarchy(misogyny) is a continuing problem in our histories, add to this racism, and you have an intersection of oppression…Give me a description based on the two reading of legacy of oppression of black women and how it continues today.
In 1614, the period of great harmony just started after the marriage of daughter of the chief of the India with the English man. About four years after their marriage he died and his younger brother became the chief having name Opchanacanough, he strived to drive the invaders out but he strucked. The English in the colony spread in different locations. This and many others events in the history lead to the idea of racism in the America (Smedley, 2007).
The racism in the America has a significant importance in the history, it have been the very serious topic since many years. Many Americans deny coming to the point that the history of them is the struggle against the racism and oppression building in the country. This is still going and they are still stuck on their points and refuse to being apologize on their mistreat behavior. In the end due to the lack of discussion on the point of racial discrimination in the law enforcement agencies, organizations this issue still persists and remains unresolved and any discussion about this topic leaves a complicated reaction (Feagin, 1991).
- Are rednecks raced? This is not an easy question… you have to go back to look at the race theorists that we have studied(Feagin, Mills, Tim Wise)
The term redneck is mostly used for the poor rural whites living in south of The United States of America. More than the other states of America, the people living in South are more away from the center of USA. These people proud to be Americans. Rednecks believe in the rule of law and they abide them very strictly. Ferguson riots in this aspect had brought many factors to the forefront to acknowledge that racism is a problem of the society that can be resolved only with the open dialogues discussion. Despite the passage of laws in the favor of the blacks and minorities, they still discriminated and humiliated.
So there should be an open discussion on this topic. If we talk about racism of rednecks, they we can say that not all of them are racist. However, white people go on to call themselves ex-racist. The black people have more sense of entitlement and an even bigger hatred of white's people. White people take care of black’s rights where they are in majority. There are different theories about racism of rednecks. However, mostly theorists believe that rednecks are not any more racists (Smedley, 2007).
