Since God created man in his own image, man’s purpose can not be completed apart from Him. King Solomon tried living for his own pleasure, yet at the end of his life he came to the conclusion that the only worthwhile life is one of honor and obedience to God (Ecclesiastes). Human purpose is also to fear God, to know God, and most importantly to love God. In our fallen state, our sinful nature separates us from God and makes it impossible to glorify Him on our own. The root cause of human problems is sin. According to Shuster, (2013) everyone sins and this is why there is a great deal wrong with the world.

Jesus
 Jesus was a man, but not just any ordinary man. Jesus’ true identity is that he is the Messiah. John 3:16 tells us “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The textbook tells us that Jesus is the Word of God by which God spoke all creation into existence (Merrick, 2014). Jesus says he did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many (Matthew20:28). Although Jesus did many miraculous works on earth, Jesus mainly came to redeem all from the bondage of sin and death. Jesus’ identity and work is significant for the Christian worldview because Jesus is the center of Christianity. John 14:6 says “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Therefore one who wishes to make it to heaven must follow Jesus and what he teaches. Jesus life on earth is the prime exactly of how Christians should live.

Restoration

God is perfect. Not only in his power and justice, but also in his unconditional love for us. This is why the solution to human problems is a simplistic one, Jesus. “Without Jesus, there would be no Christianity, and without his life, death, and resurrection there could be no Christians” (Diffey,2014).
