Communication involved both expressive and receptive. In order that, effective communication skills are also essential for learners as it helps to create a successful future career. According to the research, learners only can remember around 25% of what they listen during lecture after 48 hours. An ineffective listening skill makes learners incapable to understand knowledge they learnt in the class absolutely. A poor speaking skill make the situation worse since the learners dare not to ask questions. Thus, it can be said that communication skills are important in the learning process. It is required to help learners in grasping main points from others and presenting their ideas or speeches confidently (Tabares, 2012).

Besides, communication skills allow learners to communicate and interact with each others. Interacting within a small group to discuss a specific topic can improve the understanding of a knowledge or theory. This contributes much more in the field of education (Tabares, 2012).

Additionally, communication skills developed allow both educators and learners to communicate well among each other (Silver, 2015). A positive relationship is established between them. As a result, educators are capable in comprehending learner’s various types of taste and preference over subjects. Therefore, an educator will try to generate interest and enthusiasm of learners towards a subject. By the way, any fear and embarrassment in which a learner may have toward a specific subject can be removed (Srivastava, 2011).

Moreover, communication skills like effective body language and a good sense of humor make an educator’s lecture to be more interesting and attractive for the learners. Consequently, it can form a long lasting impression in the learners’ mind and enhance their memories on a specific knowledge. This contributes to the well being of the learners on the whole (Srivastava, 2011).

Even though education is frequently done between educator and learners only, good education quality engaged communication with colleagues. With good communication skills, educators are able to interact with each others during staff meeting or conference (Silver, 2015). This is capable for them to realize the strength and weakness level of different learners (Hall, 2013). Thus, it’s easy for them to initiate an effective solution to solve the learner’s problems and different lessons can be planned from one another. This is able to make improvement on the learning process (Silver, 2015).

The value of building relationship with parents always being underestimated but it is much more important (Bharti, 2015). With the present of communication skills, educators competent to express in both verbally or written form to inform development of learners to their parents (Silver, 2015). This can strengthen the relationships between educators and parents. An educator who is a good communicator will try to accept and listen to parent’s opinion instead of being defensive. They also can proclaim the learner’s problem or misbehavior certainly and tactfully to their parents so that the parents know the concern. Skillfully sending communication can gain esteem from parents and support for working simultaneously headed for a positive result (Silver, 2015).

3.3 Importance of communication skills in business

Communication skills also act as an important part in business sectors. Business nowadays is more multiplex than ever, the talent of eloquence is much more vital to the business world (Nielsen, 2015). Communication skill becomes a dominant element for business to reach successful. Examples of communication skills applied in business sectors can be either through listening, writing, speaking, reading or inter-debate (Sarma, 2012). An absence of communication skill hinders the communication process, which causes the businesses inefficiency problem arises (Klazema, 2014).

In business world, communication skills facilitate employers to motivate and inspire their employees all the time. This is able to furtherance a better relationship with employees, which can in turn, fosters trust to be built among them. As a result, they are willing to work harder and lead to an output increment in business (Mayberry, 2014). Furthermore, communication skills help employers to deliver a message with clarity to their coworkers so that they can understand and complete the assigned tasks. An absence of communication skills will lead to misunderstanding which can result in career frustration and increased tension of employees. This may cause the employees to quit job and thus affect the business operation (Anon., 2013).

On the other hand, employees who handle good communication skills will increase their values to marketplace (Mayberry, 2014). As stated by the investigation, only five percents of employees are qualified for employability after interview. This is due to a poor communication skill which leads to a lower self-confidence level (Sarma, 2012). This has been obviously shown that good communicators are preferences because they can contribute much more to the business. Communication skills are crucial for helping business to deal with a wide variety of people, including customers and suppliers. Employees who posses excellent communication skills is talented in reconciling conflicts happened, solving problems, and even influence others toward goal achievements (Anon., n.d.).

Communication skills have showed precious for the business. Be universally known, no business can be continued without customers. An effective communication skill enables business to interact with their customers. During the interaction, when the customers share their needs and suggestion, businesses are capable to listen properly and give back appropriate respond or feedback to the customers. Since the business has fulfilled the customers’ requirement or expectation, they feel satisfied. Customers that are pleased with a business’s services do not hesitate to share with others. It will lead to a growth of reputation of business. This stimulates more customers and it will be found that more profit is generated (Klazema, 2014).

Similarly, effective communication skills help business to interact with vendors and hence build relationships with them. Maintain a friendly partnership relationship with suppliers to ensure that they supply quality resources in future with a cheaper price. Otherwise, buyer will lose an important portal to gain resources (Klazema, 2014).

The importance of communication skill in business also can be seen when it assists workers in an organization to communicate with each others in an effective way. Effective communication is glue that help to form bonds between one another.
