Night fell. The journey continued. I felt quite weary after whole day’s hard seatback, “Mum, I’m sleepy now.”

Hugging me into her arms, my mum moved to the left a little bit in case my feet suddenly kicked the man next to us.

It seemed that he noticed this detail and then said to my mum, “You would be very tired to hug her for a long time like so. Let her lie on my place. It would be better.” The kind man left his seat without any hesitation and sit down on his luggage on the ground.

“No, no, it’s never mind for me. That’s your seat and we can’t take it. ” My mother declined thankfully.

“But the little one needs a better sleep.” The man smiled to me.

That was my most uncomfortable sleep, yet the warmest one.

In the early morning of the next day, our train finally arrived in Beijing. All the people stepped off the train with their suitcase and a smile, seemingly the same as they got on.

Nowadays, for most in the city, the preferred means of transportation is undoubtedly the plane, followed by the high-speed rail and motor trains. Even though at present shoestring travel has become popular, it is still hard to find a frugal tourist on the hard-seat train. But the reality is that for most labor-class people in China, the train with hard seats in most cases is the an important bond linking their hometown with the city they make a living in. Every year, especially in the Spring Festival, these people get on the train and start their journey back home.This vehicle has carried the heavy weight of wishes from ordinary people, and also of the real society.

Life is like a journey. Even by the worst vehicle I can discover the greatest scenery. For the hard-seat train, it has existed for quite a long time and is gradually decaying, yet it still deserves respect for its devotion to people and the society.
