Organizational Development is when there are changes with respect to continuous improvement, diversity, and work progress. In the workforce today this is important to many companies due to many organizations changing the way they do business. This change is usually spear headed by the change agent. This is someone who is well versed in the company’s dynamics. They are responsible for working with affected employees to help them adapt to the change as well as fostering the environment in which the change occurs. For example, when work processes change, people need to learn new production methods, as well as new policies and procedures even new skills.
Human Resources Management in Career Development
Human resource management is a comprehensive and strategic approach to managing people, the work place, and its environment. Effective Human Resources Management enable employee’s to contribute effectively to the overall company direction. Most human resources management is steering away from the traditional administration and personnel roles. HRM is expected to add value to the employees and make sure that employee programs impact the business in a substantial way. HRM is devoted to providing effective policies, procedures, and people friendly guidelines within the company. HRM function serves to make sure that the company’s mission and vision keep the company guided towards the success of the company.
Personal Career Development
While I'm reflecting on my own personal career development I can see progress but I do see room for improvement as well as advancement in the company. I decide to pursue my degree in Business Administration with a concentration of Human Resource because that was my career in the United States Army. With my experience and getting my degree I will have a slight advantage. Within five years have seen myself with two degrees one in Business Administrative with Human Resource, but I also plan on earning my degree in LPN (License Practical Nursing). I have decided to get my LPN after I finish with this degree. We all know that the medical field is open and they have shortage. While I'm with my company I can use my reimbursement to earn my degree in LPN. I believe that the company that I want to work for in the future will have sufficient career development opportunities for me. There are benefits in the nursing field, technology is always changing therefore there are always opportunities for training and development to meet the new needs of the company.
