and employee development are essential for an efficient company. When the employees become more successful, the company becomes more successful.

Human Resource Management (HRM) is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. Employee training and development in a corporation is the key to having successful employees. HRM is accountable for new hire orientations, leadership training and professional development seminars and workshops. The human resource department examines employee performance records and finds seminars or workshops to place the employee in for improvement in their job field. Human resource development requires human resource managers to identify employee potential and expand upon it to ensure that the company utilizes the talented employees. The human resource manager should help the workers create more realistic career developmental goals for their future. Having a career and development plans clarifies the match between organizational and individual opportunities within the department.

I have worked countless jobs in various fields of work all starting at the age of 16 years old. I have always seen myself as a leader and a team motivator. My personal career development has stemmed from hard work and dedication in each position I have held. Each company that I have worked for, I made it my mission to be the best employee there while helping to build the company to be better. My last few jobs haven’t had much potential for growth within the company because they were small businesses. I had to take my experience and knowledge from the small companies and utilize them in my current job. My recent position as an optician in an Optometrist office has great potential for advancement in the company. This company has a large corporate base and is continually growing each day. I plan on moving up to management within the year. While I am in management I am going to take the time to learn and advance into district manager. My goal within five years is to be a corporate manager, operations manager, or human resources manager. Depending on where I live (my husband is military) I will take on one of these positions and take this company to the top.

My current company has many resources to help their employees with career development. They stay on track with current technological advances, as well keeping track of employee’s accomplishments. My company also provides online training courses for their office employees and managers. Each month we are suppose to complete the training to better our performance as well as our understanding of the company values. I believe they want me and other people to advance in our careers. Since I have optical knowledge, I understand the companies core values, and I want to further my career with them, they will provide the necessary tools to do so. I have already spoken to the company’s district managers and they have told me that I am on the right track to advancement. I am looking forward to my future with the company as well as the means to provide for my family.

Any corporation or business that continuously trains and develops their employees in order to enhance the organization’s ability to succeed is a company one should work for. Empowering the employees of an organization by giving them the right tools for success and building their career development in the company is the key to future accomplishment.
