If the HR manager at a company can successfully put these things together and create a lesson plan that will reach both the social learner and the adult learner and boost diversity and inclusion all around the company, it can increase employee morale, promote mingling between employees that may not have communicated comfortably otherwise, and make managers aware of the effects it has on their employees. These exercises should not just be a onetime thing, they should be taught regularly to reiterate the importance and the value the company puts on diversity and the inclusion of all employees. If the employees can see that this is a high priority or the company, they are more likely to actively participate in the exercises that are created for them. The deciding factor will be the content, so it cannot be stressed enough how important that is. When the content is rich with information and personal experience, it can go a long way with the employees. It should be something they can easily relate to, which will make them want to engage in the materials and look forward to the training they are receiving.
In closing, diversity and the inclusion of all employees are two things that are extremely important in today’s workforce. Companies around the world have come to recognize this and they are implementing new training materials all the time to teach employees how to embrace this rather than shy away from it. There are so many exciting benefits of a diverse workforce, such as blended ideas that can help global work, an increase in productivity, language skills, and a positive reputation; and companies that recognize this use it as a definite advantage. The only thing that tends to hold a company back from their full potential is when the employees cannot fully recognize these benefits and how they can help everyone, not just the company, as a whole. The world is growing smaller every single day, and many big companies operate at the global level. When a company operates globally, they must have cultural competence and embrace the diversity both within the company and around them in their everyday lives. This best way to do this is to train the employees to embrace it as well, both at work and at home; this way everyone can be on the same page and move forward with excitement about the future.
