- Give examples illustrating the problem. Paint verbal pictures to really get the audience to feel the problem.

Nowadays, most of the professional job opportunity comes with requirements that say the job seeker must be proficient in both Malay and English language. Many employers in Malaysia complain that our school and university graduates are not proficient in English and thus are not employable. Because of this, it is very crucial for all of you as graduates, especially those who seek to have a professional career opportunity to acquire a high degree of English language command especially in English oral communication. The low level of English proficiency will make it hard for you to be employed. According to report in Malaysia Today entitled "Malaysia has 60,000 Graduates Unemployed", it is found that due to the lack of skills like communication skills, lack of working experience and lack of proficiency in English, an estimated 60,000 Malaysian graduates are currently jobless. The report also conveyed that from the estimation number of unemployed graduates, 70% are from public universities, 26% from private higher learning institutions and 34% of those graduated from foreign universities.
Introduce the solution to the problem that has been built (the fear-then-relief strategy).
-For the first time, the audience needs to be told, very directly and clearly, what it is they need to do to be a competent English speaker.
