- Population and Sample
The population of grade eleven (11) students in Aurora Senior High School have the number of five hundred ninety-seven (597) students consists of 12 sections. Each section have ten (10) randomly selected students by bringing the total number of respondents to one hundred twenty (120) participants.
- Research Instrument
The instrument used in collecting data for this study is a questionnaire, which was constructed by the researchers.
The questionnaire was divided into two parts. Part one is the name and section or strand of the students or respondents, part two also deals with the number of students affected in different types of school environment on the performance of the students like ventilation, cleanliness of room, teachers attitude and school facilities.
- Procedure for data collection
The survey forms were scrutinized typed out and printed clearly. The survey forms were contributed to one hundred twenty (120) students of the twelve sections, where ten (10) copies in each section. The respondents were asked to fill in the forms and return it to the researcher for the analysis. The researchers visited the classroom of the respondents to finish the survey on time.
There were a total number of 120 questionnaire distributed. The respondents were selected randomly without bias.
- Methods of data analysis
The data collected were organized and analyzed through the use of table and getting the average numbers of students affected in different type of school environment and different effects of those school environment on the selected students. These are shown in the table 1 on the next page.
