article I read titled, Academic and Educational Outcomes of Children with ADHD, encouragement is the best support that can be provided to a child with ADHD. These children need to know that they are doing their best and that is all that teachers, parents, faculty, etc., can expect out of them. Parents should also ask questions such as, “What do you think might happen if you did that” or “What would you feel like if it happened to you?” therefore; a child with ADHD can gain a better understanding of what others are thinking. To meet the physical needs of a child with ADHD, an educator should not sit the student near an object that could distract them (window, door knob, etc.). If a child with ADHD are not by objects that could distract them, they will be able to focus more on the material that is being covered in the classroom. Educators, as well as parents should be on a consistent routine. Routines help children with ADHD. A child with ADHD does not deal well with change and unfamiliar territories. When a child with ADHD has a consistent routine, they know what is expected and what is to come. These children need to be kept on a consistent schedule because it will only keep their focus and concentration in the classroom more. Finally, in their learning environment, they should also have consistent routines, avoid distractions, do not sit them near an object that will distract them, use goals and rewards, and always be positive. A child with ADHD needs to be encouraged and support numerous times throughout the school day. There needs to be a consistent support system for these students and there isn’t anyone who is more qualified that teachers and parents. A child with ADHD needs that consistent support and motivation to know that when they give their full effort, there is nothing more that we can ask for.

Conclusion

Overall, this research that I obtain through learning more about ADHD, has been quite beneficial. The suggestions that I have for future research that I do is to look at more than three websites. I did learn a lot from those three websites, but I feel I would have benefited more from multiple websites, organizations, and videos, even though the information I received will help me in the future. I will use the information that I learned through my research in the future classroom. If parents have questions, I can refer back to the research that I did, and even use the websites as a great references to the parents, and parents would gain a better understanding of what ADHD really is. This research also provided a website for me as a future educator that will keep me up-to-date on current issues, articles, and finding about ADHD. This will only benefit my future classroom and me personally as an educator.
