Analysis – The cartoon compares guns to pills, and cleaning liquids. At the bottom where it says “Keep out of reach of children” it’s like the author of the cartoon is saying that all three are the same just different items.

My Reaction – This cartoon stood out to me a lot! Because to compare a gun to liquid cleaner, or pills is almost crazy to me. Or maybe that was the intent of the cartoon to satirize the views of others. But a gun is nowhere near the same as the other two, YES each can arm children but someone pulls a trigger to harm a child whereas if kids get ahold of the other two it is in most cases an accident.

P.O.V. – The author is basically saying that BOTH the President and ISIS are a threat to our country.

Author – Michael Ramirez

Date of Publication – March 24th 2014

Political Issue Addressed – The political matter that the author brings up is the ISIS situation and how the president said he had no strategy towards to issue.

Analysis – The cartoon says pick one but most people would see no difference between the two because each are equally scary. But it also makes you question the “Biggest Threat” that maybe having a president who has to strategy for this tragic situation is even worse then actually ISIS. And the fact that “Biggest Threat” in the question and the “No” in Obama’s view are both the color red cold mean the author picks B.

My Reaction – Overall the ISIS situation is pretty touchy. For the president to come out and say he has no strategy for the matter was wrong, I feel like he could have came out ad at least faked a speech just to save face in the long run.

P.O.V. – The author suggests that Hillary Clinton is going to run for president.

Author – Dana Summers

Date of Publication – June 16th 2014

Political Issue Addressed – The cartoon addresses whether or not Hillary Clinton will be running for president in the upcoming election.

Analysis – The cartoon shows Hillary in a position like she is about to “run” but in this case it means run for president. She is giving everyone signs that she is going to run, but yet she acts as if she isn’t going to run. The book she is pushing behind her is like she is trying to hide evidence but then she isn’t really doing a good job at it.

My Reaction- I feel as if she is going to run for president and that she is just waiting around to announce it! In my opinion having a women over this country would be amazing to e to see how far women in general have come in such an amount of time.
