at JC casino is to make sure the goals are being met so that everyone is happy and that job improvements or concerns are satisfied to make a more productive company.

Improvements to alleviate these stressors ~

Some stress in the workplace is always going to exist, and is considered normal. However excessive stress can interfere with productivity and performance. Being able to deal with stress can mean the difference between success and failure at your job. With JC casino there is much stress going on here because of the employees not showing up for scheduled shifts, and other employees wanting to move on to other companies for better pay or atmosphere. Management here at JC casino needs to find out everything going on to make sure there is no one being treated unfairly. They can do this by finding out from the employees what is bothering them and how unhappy they are. Basic improvements to alleviate stress in the company is communication, because being able to talk with one another and which areas are making them upset. Then you can sit down and find solutions to these problems.

Counterproductive Employee Behavior

Being counterproductive with employees can be a big challenge for a company. Research has suggested that counterproductive employee behavior is common in diverse organizations. Counterproductive employee behavior is basically voluntary and goes against the companies standards. With the casino, counterproductive employee behavior is hurting the company’s overall stability. Management must take necessary steps to deal with reducing counterproductive behavior and find a way to increase productive behavior among the employees. When it comes to this company’s pit boss, Joe, the Human Resource department should be deciding what to do about him, whether it be going to the head of the casino and discussing Joe’s behavior and either eliminate him or create a better training program and retrain Joe. Now in regards to the dealer’s turnover rate, Human Resources must look into what is driving these employees to leave JC’s casino. They must find out if JC is being competitive with pay and bonuses as other casinos, and is there any way to entice the dealers to stay on with him. As far as the housekeepers and their absenteeism, a staff meeting must be held to find out why the housekeepers are unhappy, and if they have demands, will JC be able to comply with them. Otherwise the housekeeping department must be re-staffed with new employees who are willing to do the job they are hired to do. All these things need to be done as soon as possible for this company to start being productive again.

Conclusion

When a company is suffering because of employee problems like JC’s casino, then the only way to get out of the hole and start being productive again is to address everything that is happening with the employees. As the hired consultant for this company, I will do my best to see which motivational theories must be used, along with goal-setting and reinforcement techniques. I will continue to help JC casino figure out if they are being wage competitive and offering pay incentives or bonuses to keep their hard working employees happy with their jobs. Smart business owners need to know how to keep their employees from leaving. Hiring the correct way in the beginning will save a lot of time, but also paying right, offering flexible work schedules, and a comfortable environment will help the overall well-being of the company and productivity.
