activity skills during the school week were among the most promising strategies for obesity prevention” (Harvard, N.D.). Doctors and hospitals can make changes in this problem as well, by giving advices for patients about the risks of obesity and even serve healthy food and snacks in hospital cafeterias instead of junk food and soft drinks. Last but not least, all of this factors cannot be useful if the obese person is not convinced to be active and prevent obesity, the primary factor is the person himself, and as a solution for this there must be awareness campaigns by all of the previous factors to increase their knowledge in this matter and start being active to get rid of this problem from societies.

How all of these factors can help avoiding obesity? After talking about the role of each factor to prevent obesity, there are examples for two different city centers that used these methods and the result of it in regards to obesity. New York is an active city which has a lot of obese people, however they tried to solve this problem in 2012 and there were several ways to do that, like: designing urban spaces, build more parks, encourage people to use bikes, and aware people from what are they eating. For example: commuting by bike, people can use bikes instead of cars to go to their work as it is much faster, and healthier, so New York city government tried to make it easier for people, according to Sherpa (2012), “New York and many other cities around the world have been helping here by rapidly expanding the number of bike lanes along main travel routes.” While in The UK before start thinking in a solution for obesity, “Two in three men and three in four women in England do not get enough exercise” (CABE, 2008). But the government began to solve this massive number of obese people by increasing spaces for people, work on the public transports, and encourage healthier lifestyle. Furthermore, there was a focus on children by the government in schools, through offering spaces for children to play, and adding lessons about healthy food and lifestyle during the learning days. To conclude, Obesity is a real frightening issue facing societies these days in many different countries for the risks it might cause on the human body, such as: diabetes, and heart diseases. People think that the full responsibility falls on the Engineers who did not try to solve this problem for their ability to build urban spaces, and new buildings to make the communities more active. But in my point of view, I think that Engineers are partly involved in this situation and they cannot make any change with out help, governments, families, and doctors should help Engineers solve this problem by encouraging people to be more active and follow a healthier lifestyle, for example New York city which build urban spaces for people and aware the citizens of obesity and its risks to increase their physical activities, in spite of the fact that the most important factor which can help preventing obesity is the obese person himself, if he or she is not convinced that obesity is a huge problem for him non of all this solution will make a difference, thus the most important thing is persuade the obese person that the solution of this issue is between your hands.
