Finally, the problem of stress can be solved by relaxation. As recommended by The University of Maryland Medical Center, relaxation, which includes deep breathing exercise, muscle relaxation, and massage therapy, helps diminish blood pressure, release muscle tension, and eases the emotional strain (n.d.). In particular, the simplest and fastest technique to not only eliminates stress but also helps students feel relaxed during the day is deep breathing exercise. Just a few minutes with inhaling and exhaling slowly might assist the mind to be quiet and relaxed. It is very supportive if students make a habit of doing this exercise several times a day, even when not feeling stressed. Furthermore, the correlation between muscle relaxation techniques and deep breathing is simple to learn but very useful for getting to sleep. Students should frequently practice so as to make the exercise more efficient and produce relaxation more rapidly. According to The Counseling and Wellness Center (n.d.), some small studies have reported that muscle relaxation gives beneficial effects on blood pressure. Moreover, students can experience extreme relaxation when they use massage therapy. This activity not only decreases cortisol levels, one of the primary causes of stress, but also lets students enjoy their rare “lazy time,” time without thinking but relaxing. Although these relaxing techniques can address the problem of stress, it only obtains short-term results. Students have to apply other solutions for long-term stress during their studying time, for relaxing techniques are not always available except deep breathing exercises, but it may not work sometimes.

As has been shown, somehow, stress is a motivating factor which promotes students to be successful people in the future. Stress only becomes harmful for students when it is excessive, so some significant solutions, such as changing lifestyle, using cognitive – behavioral therapy, and relaxing, are needed in order to keep stress at an acceptable level. These solutions not only provide students an enjoyable time in college but also affect other people who experience stress from time to time. As growing up, more responsibilities from family, workplace, and society may put people in continuously stressful time. For this reason, it is critical for people to know their stress tolerance so as to avoid many seriously undesirable health effects.
