The implementation of line authority into the new organizational structure entitling manager's to direct the work of employees. Line authority according to (Management 2012), "is the employer-employee authority relationship that extends from the top of the organization to the lowest echelon, according to the chain of command" (p.269). The implementation of decentralized decision making is a device that gives workforce more ability to make decisions.

Scheduling refers to managers detailing what activities have to be done, the order in which they are to be completed, who is to do each, and when they are to be complete (Management 2012, p. 253).

Mission Statement of ExxonMobil Corporation

ExxonMobil Corporation makes no secret that it is on a money mission, and the company has been extremely successful in accomplishing that mission. “The mission of ExxonMobil Corporation stresses Exxon Mobil Corporation commitment to being the world's premier petroleum and petrochemical company. To that end, we must continuously achieve superior financial and operating results while simultaneously adhering to high ethical standards." (Company Mission Statements - Complete List of Worlds Largest Retail Missions, 2014)

Conclusion

ExxonMobil Corporation is a very large company with several different leaders whom mange a variety of tasks. The operational levels should be divided into smaller groups to better meet the grasp of the mission statement. The overall goal is to be world’s premier petroleum and petrochemical company. To achieve that goal, mass restructuring needs to take place. Team Bravo provided examples as to how this break down needs to occur. If these suggestions were implemented, we feel that ExxonMobil will meet its goal as described in the mission statement.
