NEGOTIATION STRATEGY

Furthermore, negotiation strategy also has been choosing in my role play. Negotiation may be defined as a process of two or more parties share their concerns and interest to reach an agreement of mutual benefit. Negotiation actually happens when all parties have both shared interest and opposed interests. However, this kind of strategy actually related to assertiveness communication because it involves two people in dealing on certain things. Therefore, for my role play, we are planning to use negotiation strategy to deal with the future business. As an initiator I need to have a negotiation with my potential business partner like we are dealing about the distribution of profits as well as the investment of capital. So in this role play I choose to use more on integrative negotiation so that we can create a win-win solution, means we are able to cooperate and become a business partner. In order to has an integrative negotiation in my role play, I decided to let my partnership as well as myself to state what we want and why we are looking for that. It is like we are sharing our opinions to certain things. For instance, in my role play, I am the one who decided to decorate the bakery and set up all the menus, however, since my potential partner is now going to be my real partner, so I need to reconsider about that and let her to give some ideas on that too.

CHALLENGES

During my preparation of role play, I have faced several obstacles. First and foremost was lacking of confident. Since I am not too talkative like everyone else, so it was going to be hard to me to actually speak spontaneously to people. Besides, I always to be spontaneous only when I talk to someone that I really comfort to talk with. So when I have no choice either like it or not, it caused me to have a little pressure on that. Plus, before the performance we also not allowed to have any discussion and rehearsal. And during the performance as well, we are disallowed to bring any scripts or notes. As the results, it may trigger my nervousness to the maximum level.

My next challenge is I am also facing difficulty in finding resources like video and books. As information, I was searching many videos which are related to my role plays. However, there were not much video that helpful me. So, the challenge raises because I just need at least a sample video to have a bit idea about the setting and actions. Last but not least, the challenge facing also regarding language. This is because, I am not the one who can speak English fluently and very well, but I have tried. Thus, it is going to be hard because, we need to use English spontaneously in front of people. Even though, I actually used to do that before, but I still feel so nervous and have a little fear on that.
