PERGUNTA 2 B I – falta responder
PPP will have a significant impact on the airplane model mix which is 40% turboprop, 18% regional jet and 42% conventional jet. Turboprop operations are not profitable in peak-periods. There for 40% of the turboprop flights will be distributed among regional and conventional jets in order to minimize the delay costs caused by aircraft mix attempting to utilize the same runways during the same periods. Conventional Jets are almost unaffected.
Due to reduction in turboprop operations, 40% during peak hours, the delay times will decrease considerably. In this way, the runways will be limited to Regional, and Conventional Jets, and therefore used more efficiently.
For an airplane model mix of 10% turboprop, 30% regional jet and 60% conventional jet, we will not see significant changes regarding delays because turboprops account for only 10% of flights, however the delay times and associated costs decrease but the PPP doesn’t have as much affect as in the previous mix.
Given that Turboprop planes will be forced to cancel flights in peak periods, since they are not profitable, they will allow space for other airplanes, reduce congestion and save on the delay costs that would have been generated.
The Impact of Weather Conditions on the Arrival and Service Rates (pergunta 3)
A queuing theory supõe que o sistema está em equilíbrio, o tempo entre duas chegadas sucessivas está exponentially distributed, existe um número infinito de pedidos, server doesn’t need to delay between servicing requests, não existe um limite para o tamanho da fila e o critério utilizado é o FIFO (first in, first out) e todos os pedidos devem ser atendidos.
