Management is important, however, leadership is essential ability for leader (Kotter, 1992 cited in Williams 2006).

There have an other important thing that I really recognized, which is a good leader should thinking and care about employees feel when they working for you. The employee of working in King Gee factory have to face unpredictable situation was really bad for them. At the same time, this is a hard job for Direct manger to tell their employees this bad news and pacify the employees. although this job was to hard, but he doing very well. Because the direct manager was really concern about these employees and help workers walking out this dilemma.

Thus, my assumption for leadership was that emotion is important for a good leader. Certainly, management and leadership are include lots of aspects. The management theories were lead manager knows how to encourage people to follow him and develop an individual commitment about developing making decisions and business judgments in real situation.

Post-subject reflection

For myself, i do not have management experience, my expectations of this subject were when I graduated and going to work I can think as leader’s way. Because I learned the management theories from this subject. In my mind, this is very useful for my career in future.

But my assumption of stewardship is like a financial management or relate benefits of employees. Hernandez (2012) states that stewardship is the position that people is willing to subjugate other people’ s interests to perform in protection of someone’s long term welfare. In additional, stewardship relates to feeling of people and the motivation of employees to perform. As the definition of stewardship, I hope I can become autonomy as a good leader in the future.

At the post-subject position, i learned how to become a skillful, powerful and useful leader to face my less experience and knowledge. As I present in previous paragraph, I have learned regarding to managing, leading and stewarding people. I practiced as a leader when we doing group role play in tutorial. Although I did not doing well when I play as a leader, but I still learned skills from other group members who have experience of management. We were discussing and make good decision for mini case studies. Thus, I need improving a lot of aspects for my future studying and working. Because even if I try to manage people, maybe, nobody will follow me in current period. However, I know the disadvantage of management skills of mine, I can keep studying and practicing and following management theory in my future.
