I rate the story of Edward Scissorhands high because it has very clear structure and plot and the characters used in the story adequately develop the story well so as to be relevant and bring the theme of comedy and romance. As compared to many stories the story of Edward Scissorhands I give it upper hand because is original and very engaging as well. The film has got pace and demonstrate the continuity demonstrating clearly the beginning of the story step by step to the end of the story without mixing of skipping the sub stories without finishing. Also the story is full of innovative ideas where the main character displays his creative thoughts and present them to the public successfully.

The criteria on technical excellence is highly seen throughout the film where Edward ( main character) shows creativity by trimming the plants to be of various shapes such as giraffe, dinosaur, human in various postures and he also trims plants to be shape of sign of love sign. In addition Edward who is main character he not only trim plants but also rocks and snow to be different shapes and images. All this he is doing to display visual creativity.

Evaluation of whether all action will be captured in the camera have all considered, thus idea of cinematography well put under consideration. It was good to consider this factor since it brings visual effectiveness in the film. In Edward Scissorhands story, editing is not necessary since there is pacing and flow of the story already, the transition seem to be smooth and well paces without any distractions. Words and sound effects in the story is very clear and ease to be understood by audience thus it will attract listeners. In other words no foreign language used in the whole story thus this will motivate and attract many audience to listen over and over again.

Overall quality of Edwards’s Scissorhands film is very high since overall impression of kindness and romance is attained in different activities in the film. The overall impression is attained without losing the meaning of the film and the theme. In overall quality also enjoyment factor is covered because the film is full of comedy bringing out laughter and jovial mood.

Conclusion and recommendation.

My fellow board members I recommend Edwards’s Scissorhands film to be included in the festival because after my evaluation I see it fit for the occasion. After application of criteria to evaluate the film it is my observation that Edwards’s Scissorhands film meets all criteria thus qualifying to be in festival.
