us that Guo Ming could not attend the show because of physical cause. We all felt shocked at first and worried about Guo Ming’s health. When we were anxiously looking for someone to help us in the show, we received a good news that Guo Ming’s friend A Long, also a patient with intellectual disability, was willing to walk in the show, taking the place of Guo Ming. I felt really moved at that time. As we all know, most of the patients with intellectual disability don’t like to stand in front of others, and some of them are even afraid of flashlight. But A Long was still willing to help us, although he was nervous and a bit scared when standing on the stage. We paid a visit to A Long immediately, letting he try on the clothes and teaching him the simple move that we would like to perform on the stage. Although A Long was a little shy, but he still very cooperated and concentrated. It was really a pleasant experience and all of us had fun.

On day of the catwalk show, we all have fun on the stage and A Long did a good job. Moreover, we won a Best Concept Award for Guo Ming with the help of A Long. Later when we brought the prize for Guo Ming, both of them seemed very happy.

I learnt a lot during my service experience. The first thing is to thank my teammates and teachers. Although I have no knowledge of making garments before, they taught me skills and knowledge related, help me patiently and encourage me to try the sewing machine as well as experience the process of making clothes. My teammates and I enjoyed a good time. As I am a mainland student, we talked about the cultural difference between mainland and Hong Kong.

Moreover, I really appreciate ITC department to give me the chance to serve the community. I know nothing about psychopath before I attend this course. In this course, I not only come into contact with the patients, but also their elderlies, which let me realize that psychopath are not scary. They just sometimes cannot control themselves and they need loves from the society. As a compassionate and responsible citizen, we should care more about them and let them feel the concern and love from the outside world. And that’s all what I learned in this course.
