There was just an incident on February 27, 2017 that happened at a child’s birthday party in Douglasville, Georgia. It was a couple that were both charged lengthy terms, (6-13 years) for the disruption of a young African American child’s birthday party waving confederate flags, racial slurs, and armed threats. “Their actions were motivated by racial hatred,” says Supreme Court Judge William McClain, (Global News). This all leads up to the Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Trayvon Martin, and many more cases. In all three of these cases all men were shot and killed. The Michael Brown case started the “Black Lives Matter” movement. This movement evolved from a social media hashtag, to a national protest against police brutality. In contrast to that, all lives matter. Yes, this was a protest slogan to get everyone's attention about what is going on in the justice system with African Americans, but in the end all lives matter. Everyone is equal. Every life on this earth matters. It does not matter if you are black, latino, white, yellow, red, or even green, those lives matter. There was another incident that was stated in a college Sociology class. A 16 year-old African American boy was driving his mom’s 2016 black Nissan Maxima after a football game of his. He had just got done playing and had permission to take the car to McDonalds. While getting out of the car, a police car pulled up beside him and was questioning him. The police thought that the boy was driving a stolen car because as shown in the polls, most white people think that blacks are unintelligent. So the policemen thought there was no way that was his car! They ended up calling the boy’s grandmother and mother, patting him down, and asking him if he was high.

Everyone knows that racism needs to be stopped, but who is going to be the one who does something about it? Racism has occurred for centuries and many more if people do not help stop it. If racism does not stop, this can split the unity of races and cause much more violence than what is happening now. The United States is not the United States without the “United” part. Without United it would just be states. No race is superior than any other race. There should be the same equal opportunities for each race.
