Our class was preparing for the chorus competition that week, and I was the leading singer. My work was to control the main key and set different ways of different parts for different people to sing. After the first rehearsal, our classmates all thought bad at the song, saying that it was too traditional and we were not going to have any advantage to sing in that way. The song couldn’t be changed, thus, the style had to be changed. At that night, I went into the bathroom and turned on my favorite song as usual. Followed singing the prelude and refrain. But when the verse came, I decided not to follow the singer, but to sing in my own way. First, I changed the key--into a falling tune. And then, I slow down a bit of the rhythm. Just at that time, a word came up in my head--harmony! Yes! We could add harmony into the original song we prepared for the chorus competition!

At the second rehearsal, I shared my idea with fellows and they all thought highly of it. From then on, we all tried our best to practice. We worked hard on every detail and every note. We developed mutual understanding between each other. Finally, the competition came. With the perfect performance and special style, we got screaming and applause from the audience and also, the first prize.

At the award ceremony, I was asked to make a little speech. “Thanks for all the classmates. Without their hardworking, I couldn’t stand here and speak.” Then, I put down the tube and whispered to myself, “ Thank you, my shower.”
