Have you ever taken a personality test before? If so, What was your reaction to the analysis? If not, what would you expect a proper test to measure?
I have taken a personality test more than once for my job. We take the Meyer-Briggs personality test at least every two years. I was nervous at first because I wasn't sure what the result was going to be. It measured my strengths and weaknesses, and I also learned that I was an Introvert. I believe, I better understood at that point why there were people in the workplace that were more differcult to get along with at times. I would recommend personality testing to help you to know what your weakness and strengths are to help improve in your professional life or just help you inprove your life and relationships.
What would make a personality test reliable and valid?
What makes a test reliable is when it can consistently measure what it attempts to measure. When you are measure something more than once, and it come out the same each time, then you feel confidence that you can trust the outcome and know that it is close to accurate. With your personality, I want to know I have something that is testing my pesonality and is accurate in what it says, and I can see the results in my life. With Meyer-Briggs, I felt good knowing that the results were very close to what my personality had been revealing already in my everyday life.
