Same-sex couples deserve the same equal rights as opposite sex marriages, they are good parents, and marriage is about the love between two people are all reasons why same-sex marriage should remain legalized and recognized by every state. Through marriage, same-sex couples will be able to exercise the same rights and benefits as opposite sex marriages. Parenting is about how the person parents a child and protects and guards them, not about what gender they are. Plain and simple, love is love and it knows no boundaries. Marriage is about who a person loves, not what gender they are. Love is an essential part marriage; people marry because they love each other (Rowe, 2011). All characteristics, definitions, and qualities of a marriage can be held by both men and women. Who is to say they cannot hold it for the same-sex through marriage?
