Last but not least, to be mature and step into an adults’ society, students have to learn about sex. On debate.org, many students dislike sex education because they feel embarrassed about the topic; there are also parents who feel awkward about letting their children to learn about sex in public. However, sex is just part of human’s nature, normal behaviors and is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Nevertheless, teenagers are going to get in contact with the idea of sex in everyday life anyway. Many TV shows, games, magazines, websites, novels, and even everyday news all involved sexual scenes and messages, and it is impossible to prevent adolescents from seeing them. Steve Siebold, the author and expert in the field of critical thinking and mental toughness training, believes that sex education should be taught in school because most of the teenagers are going to have sex eventually. (Huffington Post) According to America's Center for Disease Control, 47.4 percent of high school students have had sex. And these are only the kids who admit it. Moreover, many teenagers learned about lovemaking through pornographies. Comparing to the adults’ media, sex education in school is a much more appropriate way for students to obtain information about sex. When students step into the adults’ society, they have to be mature and learn to utilize basic life skills. Sex is just one of the life skills, the students have to eventually experience it in society. Education is not only about learning English, math, etc., but it is also a process for students to adapt into society in the future. Therefore, sex education should be mandatory in school.

Until now, only 22 states in United States made sex education a compulsory course in school. Sex is just one of the normal contacts for adults and it should not be an evasive topic for schools and students. Sex education is necessary for students for many reasons. It prevents teenagers from having risks from unprotected sex, it helps students to learn more about science of nature, and it is a required knowledge for students to be mature enough to step into society.
