of Human Life

There is no question that theatre should remain necessary to our society along with its value and practice. Theatre is the highest level of acting. Broadway acting or any high level theatrical performance in front of a live audience is the pinnacle of acting. In a world where things have started coming so easy, theatre is the one thing that has stayed true to its culture. Theatre contributes to social and academic teachings, impacts our lives, and teaches us about ourselves along with the people around us.

Theatre is an ancient cultural practice that requires hard work and practice. It reminds us of the abilities and power that human bodies consist of. Theatre reminds us that, even in our ever-changing digital age, our bodies are capable of magical things without technological advancements. Theatre gives us self-knowledge and teaches us a lot about ourselves. It helps us understand how our minds work while learning about the minds of other people.

Not only does theatre help us learn about ourselves, but it also enhances our knowledge on many other things. Theatre is a wonderful way to teach and learn history. Theatre makes history come alive unlike an old classroom textbook. Theatre makes less exciting teachings and events come to life. Theatre is able to make teachings entertaining. Along with learning about historical events, history teaches us about different cultures. This year we studied all different types of performance traditions around the world and it made me appreciate the way different cultures perform theatre.

In my opinion, the most beautiful and important element of theatre is the teachings about life. Putting culture, history, and self-expression aside, theatre teaches us about human nature and life. My favorite part about seeing a production is walking out a different person than I was when I walked in. Theatre teaches valuable lessons about life and is able to portray these lessons and teachings on stage. So many styles of entertainment and performance types are easily accessible, but none of them offer any genuine valuable teachings that a live theatre performance can offer. Theatre confronts societal problems and often concludes with a solution to the problem.

Theatre reminds us of where we come from. In a world that is crippled by technology, theatre is one of the very few things that keeps mankind creative. It is a beautiful act that uses human abilities while feeding off of other humans. Theatre allows us to take a step back away from the ever-changing society that we live in and enjoy an art that has been practiced globally since human beings first stepped on this planet. We cannot forget the importance of this art regardless of the copious amounts of entertainment we have at our fingertips. Theatre allows us to remain a creative race and is one of the few things that will allow us to stay in touch with our past, which is something we are losing sight of quickly. Live theater has been around longer than any other form of human expression.

In conclusion, theatre is one of the most collaborative arts that exists in the world. Theatre is all about working together and making something that is bigger than yourself, which is something that is being lost in today’s society. Theatre is a historic practice. It allows people to get away from the buzz of todays world and enjoy an ancient practice that has been performed since men touched down on this planet. At the core of entertainment and life is theatre. Until laughter, sorrow, education, and memory becomes obsolete, theatre is something we will always need.
