My third question was, “Are you satisfied with the position you are in or would like to explore other career opportunities?” Dave St. Peter never mentioned wanting a different job or position. It seemed that he said he loved his job and has a passion for it. Like I said earlier, Dave said he loves going to the ballpark every day and it is unreal that is job is actually about a game. He said that it doesn’t get much better than that. Dave seems very satisfied with his job and would definitely not want to change it. It was cool to see someone have their dream job with the story that Dave has. It gave me hope that I could do the same thing.
I thought the Dave St. Peter presentation was everything I could have hoped for and more. He covered basically everything I would want to know about a career in sports in a little over an hour. I walked out out of class that day with more knowledge than I could have hoped for. If I had to pick one topic of his that I learned the most about it would be how to contain your ego and act correctly about yourself. He gave so much valuable information on the process and the steps you need to take that no one else in my life could give me. I am going to apply his lessons throughout college and after I get my degree. I can apply it when I am networking myself throughout college and searching for a job after I get my degree. I now know its not all about getting a degree, you have to work hard in all areas to get the job of your dreams starting today.
