The last thing that I will be talking about is that kids are getting life long injuries from concussions. We are all kids, imagine not getting to grow up and show your potential, to show what you are good at and how you could make a difference in this world. Well that is what is happening to kids. We are the future of this world and concussions are ruining it for everyone. The long lasting effects of concussions can ruin kids mental capacity not allowing them to be able to share their potential and abilities with the world. And unfortunately we are the most vulnerable to concussions as well. Our nerve fibres are easily torn apart which is part of the reason a concussions happens. Kids brains are also lighter which makes it that much easier for the brain to collide with the inside of the skull. And it doesn't help when the skull is 90% grown on a neck that belongs to a child which causes further whiplash motion. In 2012 alone 3,800,000 concussions happened which is double the amount of concussions in 2002. This shows that the game is getting faster and the rules need to be getting more strict. Now they have made some changes to the rules but unless you are getting paid to play then there shouldn't be any hitting at all. They are not aware of symptoms from concussions and are sending players back onto the ice after a concussion it doesn't matter if you are the best player and it is tied in the third period of the championship game they have to be taken off. Yes coaches are starting to learn about concussions and having to learn about the symptoms but it isn't at the level that is should be at. After this I hope you can see that you are at risk of getting a concussion and if you aren't careful then you could become very injured.

As you can see concussions can leave you injured for life and struggling to complete simple tasks, making a normal life hard to live. Hopefully you realize that concussions are terrible injuries that nobody should have to experience by making the rules in contact sports more strict to keep up with the speed of the game. People say that sports are getting soft and that football isn't football anymore, but these rules are required because we don't want our future to be in the hands of people like this . . .
