So my friends, what happens when someone become a victim of cybercrime? Scammers are often luring potential victims and target anyone regardless of background, age and income level. These scammers are good in using tactics which usually catch you off guard. In some cases, it might cause the victim to face a job loss and reputation damage.

My friends, as you can see, cybercrime can be far-reaching and very serious indeed. Just a single successful cyber-attack, it can wreak all over the world. So, how is this technologies transforming the way crime is committed and what are we doing to counter it? By applying the understanding of this treat, we know what we need to do to tackle cybercrime. First, taking a simple set of steps, the public, you and I can reduce some of these vulnerabilities. We can set stronger password to keep hackers out. We can learn how to identify phishing emails and make sure we don’t click on the links that will download viruses so that we are not inviting a cyber-criminal into our home computers. We also can keep our systems up to date with the latest firewall and anti-virus protection.

In conclusion my dear friends, cybercrime is a serious issue and it should not be ignored. I have shared all of you on what is cybercrime, types of cybercrime, statistics of cybercrime in Malaysia and also suggested some ways to prevent this crime. We are facing a growing and more serious threat, but our response to it has grown too. The Internet should be a source of tremendous economic and cultural growth in Malaysia. In this instance, it is better to be safe than sorry. Thank you.
