People in society keep in touch with one another and can effectively communicate and exchange their views for the growth and development of the community. According to a study by

Kang and Munoz; how well we communicate maybe affected by the way we communicate:

The current study showed that the individuals who preferred online communication with friends were perceived to be less socially skillful in a stranger-encounter situation especially during the first 1-minute of the social interaction. This incompetence seemed to disappear by the end of the social interaction, since there was no group difference between the Online and Face-to-Face groups. This pattern of outcome implies that the individuals who prefer online communication need more time to be ready for social interactions. This “slow-warmer hypothesis” can be tested in future studies with methodologically more rigorous designs (206).

The presence of computers, internet and portable devices have broadened the web of connectivity by changing long distances to short ones; everyone is equal distance from the other through the present connections. Living without these technologies will be totally impractical as this has become ingrained in our society. People are gaining knowledge on how to make use of the communication tools to improve their ways of living and staying informed. New technologies are being developed daily which shows that the industry will continue to grow and expand. People will continue using these technologies to improve their standards and to stay informed.

Now more than ever life is incomplete without technology and the world has reached a point that technology is a part of everything. Having all this technology incorporated in our daily activities makes life easier and worth living; except when technology is not working right! Technology is responsible for many efficiencies that advantage limited time and personal assets, but there are some disadvantages. Hackers can steal your data and corrupt your operating systems, effectively shutting a business down. A company or charity may technologically produce more “widgets” but now they must reinvest in cyber security.

Technology has changed everything about our culture. We will never go back to the old fashioned ways; you know pre-automation in operations and management. Even third world nations are pursuing automation. I wonder what the next technological innovation is going to be.
