be conducted for key accounts (customers) to make them understand the importance of PMO. One of the issue was no clear communication from AtekPC to the stakeholders involved to get their buy-in into this program. So, a training program like this would increase the awareness and ensure the success of PMO.

Light PMO- Strider’s thought of going with a light PMO instead of a heavy PMO model could be a second alternative to successfully implement PMO in AtekPC. In the light PMO model, low internal resources would be allocated, who would then take part in the execution of PMO in a particular division with minimum risk contingency. Further, only if successful and results in measurable cost savings, the light PMO model can be executed full time rather than implementing a heavy PMO model in which lot of risk is taken by recruiting external resources and involving larger set of internal resources. Light PMO if successful, would also be instrumental in getting the buy in even in the top down approach.

Finding the middle ground- AtekPC is faced with growing challenges, and amidst these challenges it needs to find a balance along this spectrum and gradually create the acceptance for this evolving function. This would only be possible with the buy-in from lead analysts/senior executives in the business functions, who have historically been in-charge of running these projects. Providing them enough flexibility of operation along with guiding them to the adopt the formalization of project management practices, would go a long way in sustaining the changes that this function promises to bring and eventually help the enterprise stay on par with the changing marketing needs.

Recommendation

This would clearly help in solving most of the key issues which AtekPc is facing with to execute PMO. This strategy can be implemented by incentivizing business units, which will thereby promote cause which Strider has taken upon him to improve AtekPC.
