What so different we appreciate and interpret the world between cultures?

Human beings have the ability to assimilate clusters of information that we have acquired through learning and experience into knowledge. This ability called cognition of the latin cognoscere "to know", processes the information from the perception.

Under hypothesis and studies; many researchers support the cultural background of people affect their cognitive processes most basic and universal: categorization, learning, reasoning, attention and perception. Culture and education influence in decision-making and in the perception of the reality of each person.

These differences can be noticed in the real-life events, comparing two relatively different cultures: Western and Eastern.

March 11, 2011 during the nuclear accident of Fukushima in Japan, mobile media lost coverage and in the midst of the panic the way had the Japanese contact with a family member and loved was to find a phone booth that would work. Long lines of anxious from a public phone, all eager to call and communicate were formed. From our point of view, this action would be difficult to understand: every Japanese is limited to make a call after it returned from orderly and respectful to the tail to allow all use the phone at least 1 time. Would it be possible that this action will take place in the same way in our Western culture? Different would have reacted? Oriental culture stands out for its collectivist attitude, they maintain a group harmony and this makes his way of thinking more holistic.

But the cognitive differences between Westerners and Asians are also manifested in other areas. For example, while Western culture maintains its autonomy personal living in more independent societies, focusing always on their personal objectives, for the Orientals, behave appropriately means conform to the expectations of other people and it is most important to accomplish this that get personal achievements.

For Asians the cause of everything is in context, and this may be due to the fact of having it with much presence in their daily lives. That is why, perhaps they could describe the scene underwater bullets in the study carried out by Nisbett in 2001.

There are many more standards of typical behaviors that characterize Asians and Westerners, who have their origin in cultural and social factors. A Western and an Asian don't see and interpret the world in the same way. We have many more similarities than differences, despite not being so visible. We share the same ability in a different way.

Our experiences, environments and societies allow us perform cognitively in a unique and special way. The connection between culture and cognition is particularly linked.
