U.S. Military Role in Afghanistan Today

In spite of the fact that many people believe that we should take all of our troops out of Afghanistan, there are reasons to why we should keep them there. One reason as to why we should keep our troops there is because there are still Taliban all around Afghanistan. If we leave now, they will just take over and kill thousands of more innocent people. Things are still unstable in Afghanistan and we can not let the Taliban continue to terrorize and kill the civilians of Afghanistan. The Taliban is constantly kidnapping, killing, and destroying. The second reason why we should not take troops out of the Afghanistan is because most Afghans want us there. The people in Afghanistan are starting to have an education because of the soldiers in the are. Having our troops there has allowed more rights for women, and have gotten rid of the rule of the Taliban and al-Qaeda. The third reason why we should not take our troops out is because we are way too invested by this point. The U.S. has invested way too much into this mission in Afghanistan to quit now. If the U.S. were to leave now, the country would go back to being a nation that accommodates terrorists. The last reason is because we need to help. Al-Qaeda and Taliban are surely capable of planning another big attack on other countries. If we stay, Afghanistan is gaining an ally. Having us there allows us to hold off Al-Qaeda and Taliban from doing anything horrible. We have to finish a job that we had started.
