Homelessness is not always in adults but in teens as well, causes in teen is Primary Causes which can be caused by severe economic hardship in our society, and then we have Foster Care this happen when a teen is of age and is discharged they have no place to go or no income to support them. Substance Abuse 85% of youth is homeless because of the use of drugs and alcohol. Pregnancy we find most teen are runaway girls who becomes pregnant, some teens are put out of their homes when parents discover that they are having a child. Neglect is that individual become homelessness when they don’t have the financial support of their families this will leave to a lack of emotion.

What are Some Risk Factors

Risk factors that are dealing with the homelessness is psychotic disorders this disease will reflect on an individual inability and can experience a break from reality which they become severely disoriented, with this type of disease they began to hallucinate and have a disorganized speech pattern this can result in schizophrenia. About one out three homeless people will have this condition; males are highly to have psychosis because of the drug use and are single. Individuals who have HIV / AIDS are more high risk of losing their jobs due to constantly been absent as a result of having a lot of health issues, 50% of them are at risk of becoming homeless in the United States (National Alliance to End Homelessness, 2006). Many people who are homeless constant suffer some type of substance abuse in America, been that they inject the drugs and may often share the needles, with this been said the risk of HIV among the homelessness are led by sexual activities it is done outside of the shelter. Another risk factor is Cardiovascular in homeless adults due to use of smoking and heavy use of cocaine, this is a widespread in the United States. These adults who are homeless will die at an higher rate from having heart disease due to poor hypertension, poor hyperlipidemia, and poor glycemic control.

Who Becomes Homeless / Type of People

Veterans and Seniors are among becoming homeless, with veteran it is between 13% they make up one third of the population and are mostly male and about 4% are only female, they are very poor and single individual. Most veterans have a hard time adjusting to the civilian life due to a brain injury this will make it hard to maintain a job and therefore this will cause them to loss their homes as well. Domestic violence are people who become homeless due to physical, sexual abuse and women who are in abusive relationship and really don’t have nowhere else to go, this would led to 19% of them to live on the street. This is one of the main primary causes to contribute to becoming homeless in our community, and our society, most women flee this situation are the ones who are a survivors and their families.

Conclusion

In my conclusion homeless people are individual who don’t have anywhere to stay due to the loss of a job, domestic violence, drugs abuse, natural disasters, and lack of housing these are just some of the reason why an individual become homeless in the United States, with the economic been the way it is this put people in all type of situation at some very serious risk factors. Homelessness is a big issue in our communities, and society because individuals fall on hard times and some have mental illness that can’t maintain a job due to their condition, as we no men, women, and children of all race become homeless.
