The abortion shouldn't be a choice
In the last century abortion has been one of the most controversial topics in the world. The definition of abortion, in this case, is used in the sense of ending a pregnancy either caused or naturally before the relevant time. There are two ways to about: the first one with pills and the second one by surgery. In most countries this is legal, but in others it isn’t. Many people have different opinions about abortion; some of them agree with this action and others disagree.
The abortion pill is one of the ways most used to have an abortion. This pill is a medicine that ends a pregnancy. The medical name for the abortion pill is mifepristone. It works by blocking the hormone progesterone. Without progesterone, the lining of the uterus breaks down and the pregnancy cannot continue. The abortion pill is followed by another medicine called misoprostol, which makes the womb contract, causing cramping and bleeding similar to a miscarriage (British Pregnancy Advisory Service). The vacuum aspiration can be done by anaesthetic, sedation or general anaesthetic and the process of this is removing the pregnency by gentle suction. Common side effects of the procedure include cramping, nausea, sweating, and feeling faint. Less frequent side effects include possible heavy or prolonged bleeding, blood clots, damage to the cervix and perforation of the uterus (American Pregnancy Association). The dilatation and extraction is based removing the pregnency using narrow forceps through the neck of the cervix (British Pregnancy Advisory Service). The side effects are: irregular bleeding or spotting for the first 2 weeks, cramps similar to menstrual cramps, which may last from several hours to a few days, as the uterus shrinks back to its nonpregnant size, emotional reactions for 2 to 3 weeks. After an abortion, it is normal to feel relief, sadness, grief, or guilt. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make emotions stronger than usual (Healthwise).
