Many people against abortion use the Bible to support their belief that abortion is wrong, yet the Bible states that unwanted children are better off if they were never brought into this world. If an unwanted child were to be born from a mother who wished to have an abortion, then the life of that child would have no purpose or meaning. Unloved and uncared for, the child would live a life of anguish and woe. In the chapter of Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, it states that,

"If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, however many they be, but his soul is not satisfied with good things, and he does not even have a proper burial, then I say, better the miscarriage than he, for it comes in futility and goes into obscurity; and its name is covered in obscurity. It never sees the sun and it never knows anything; it is better off than he. (Ecclesiastes 441)'"

According to the verse King Solomon has stated, a man who lived a satisfying life holds more value then a newborn fetus. He wrote that if life is pleasing, then we should be thankful. But when life doesn’t treat we well then sometimes it is better to end a pregnancy prematurely than to allow it to continue to grow into a miserable and glum life. It is not worth living a terrible life. It is not saying that people shouldn't bring new life into this world, but rather it is saying that a miserable life is no life at all and should not suffer through hell on earth. Rather than a life that is destined to live a dreadful one, it is better for that life not to live one at all.

There are two sides to any argument, and abortion is no different. Pro-life activists consider abortion to be sinful, immoral, and unethical and should be forbidden from practice. On the opposite side of the debate, are the pro-choice activists. These activists proclaim it is a women’s legal right to do with her body as she pleases. Abortion is no longer an underground practice done hidden away in basements and back alleys. It has become a rather common procedure with which great deals of women take advantage of. This does not change the fact that some individuals approve abortion and some do not. While these two groups defend their standpoints on a battlefield there will never fully be a resolution. Unquestionably the debate on abortion will rage on.
