Finally, Jamal Malik from Slumdog Millionaire. Jamal was an uneducated orphan born in the slums. He had experienced many horrible things: his friend being blinded, his brother murdering a man, and the love of his life being torn away from his arms. He even witnessed as his mother was murdered right before his eyes, but still found the urge to proceed moving forward. Looking for a new home, they were given an opportunity by a man who would later become their enemy. To make money, they went to extreme measures. One of which consists of acting as a tour guide for the Taj Mahal and telling the tourists it was originally a hotel. As Jamal grows older, he has only one goal; to find Latika, and to do this he must not trust anyone. He went on to a show with a chance to win millions of dollars because he wanted Latika to see him. Before he could answer the last question he was arrested, beaten, and interrogated until they finally understood the truth: He just happened to know what the answer was from life experience. Jamal ends up getting the money and the girl in the end. The moral of this movie is to keep moving forward, no matter what life throws at you.

Even though these characters went through some terrible things, they still pull through and find a way to keep pushing forward. Their courage, dedication, and ability to overcome adversity is what aids them in success.
