Comparison
Other worldviews may not have such strict rules on abortion. While a Christian worldview states that the decision for one to have a child is God’s decision, while other worldviews believe that abortion is a woman’s decision and that “Abortion needs to be legal and widely accessible to all groups in society” (Colker, 1992). Another comparison between Christian worldview and other worldviews is when life begins. Christian worldview believes that life begins the moment of conception. While other worldviews believe that life does not begin until the actual baby has been born and it outside of the mother. This is a huge argument between both worldviews because the Christian worldview shows abortion as murder while other worldviews argue that the baby is not considered alive, therefore the baby has nothing to lose.
Conclusion
In this dilemma, Susan is place in a situation to make a difficult decision must be made on whether she is going to keep the child and deal with any issues that may arise with the baby having Down Syndrome or not keeping the child and going on with her life and career and trying again later to have a child again. Depending on her personal worldview, Susan can either chose to go the route of the Christian worldview and keep the child, or go with an outside worldview and seek other options to resolve the dilemma. This will cause Susan to question her own personal worldview and whether it is that of a Christian worldview or another one.
