Secondly, the argument of stem cells is also invalid. I have looked into stem cells before, when I first heard about that being an argument for pro-abortionists. It is a fact that stem cells do help people, however, fetal stem cells have proven to result in harm for most people thus making the results inconclusive. My argument here is that people need to be more aware of scientific research. As a Christian I do recognize science in its root cores. For example, I see science as a good thing as long as it is not a thing that tries to imitate God. If the pro-abortionists use stem cells as an argument, they should know that fetal stem cells can be harmful to the person receiving the stem cells. For that matter also it is not required to kill a child in order to harvest their stem cells. For example, fetal stem cells can be harvested from stillborn children, umbilical blood, and miscarried children. Another aspect to this argument is that adult stem cells work much better at treating various types of diseases in people. They have been clinically tested and have yielded greater results than that of fetal stem cells. If ethically harvested I personally have no problem with stem cells. Adult stem cells (also referred to as “non-embryonic” stem cells) are present in adults, children, infants, placentas, umbilical cords, and cadavers (Bevington, 2005). They can be very beneficial to mankind, and can save a lot of lives, or make lives better. So the argument that stem cells are a reason to abort children is also invalid in my eyes. I really feel that it is unethical to harm an innocent human being so that another human being can have a better life, I feel that it is selfish, and that it is outrageous to even think that way. As humans we should be more ethical in testing the fields that we are trying to pursue, and ultimately stop using fetal stem cells when adult stem cells are easier, ethical, and show better results than that of fetal stem cells.
I strongly object to abortion, and I feel that there is no need for it to be happening. The mother being at risk is not an issue to me, for I feel that if you are meant to go, you should not play the role of God in deciding your fate. I also feel that by aborting a child you are denying that child at least a chance at life. It is completely unethical to abort a child, and many theories back up my claims. For people to actually be pro-abortion in this world is very scary. I think that if they are willing to abort a child, what says that they would stop there. Dee’s situation was very sad to say the least, but let it show that she was ethical in her decisions. She chose not to take the life of an innocent child, and to leave it in the hands of God. She did lose her child, but she did allow it the chance to live. I think that if all people would just research a little more, or at least just try to have compassion, they will see it in a more ethical way. Whether they believe in God or not is not my place to decide, but the fact remains that abortion is unethical in any situation either religious or scientific.
