It is truly amazing when someone is able to communicate almost instantaneously with another person halfway around the world through Facebook or Snapchat. While Social Media is seen and presented as a modern day innovation that can connect people and bring them closer together, is can cause a greater deal of harm then we realize. As it connects us with other people through a screen, we are too preoccupied to realize it is pulling us away from our natural environment we were created to live in touch with. When we are pulled away from our natural environment it causes mental illness along with physical harm. As social media continues to grow and flourish in society, people’s connection with nature withers and dies.
