The article is written through the writer’s perspective. It is a very helpful article as it shows the opinions of the conservative writer. I will use this in my paper as it has many different sides and view from parents, teachers, etc. The article can be used to show examples of how data mining has had negative impacts on individuals. Although the view of the article is the author’s opinion, it does have facts and views that can be used in a research paper.

In this article you will read the different issues that social media has on children and teens privacy. The article also brings up how social media has affected us as a society. There are different privacy issues that are brought up in this article. Students behavior can be tracked by colleges, pictures are stored and people who aren’t intended to see them can, and most importantly these social media sites don’t always protect children from becoming victims to predators. The article lists different issues with social media and privacy. It also informs the reader of what can be done to prevent certain issues regarding social media and privacy.
This is one of the scholarly sources that I will be using. The author Susan Barnes is a professor at Rochester Institute of Technology in the Department of Communication. Barnes has written multiple items on topics such as: Internet, Communication, and Web research. Barnes uses different types of research in this article. I find Barnes and this particular article to be extremely helpful.
This article will help shape my paper. I agree with most of the statements and information from Barnes to be very helpful. The privacy issues as well as the information on how social media is affecting children and teens is something to make everyone aware of. This article specifically will help with my research on the topic I am writing about.
