Absolutism is definitely at its ultimate low. Although there are people who still practice no sex until marriage they are very rare. Most people who practice this form of sexual value usually do it for religious reasoning. Certain religions believe that a woman should be pure and clean for her husband when she marries. Surprisingly in the study there were more blacks than whites who went with the absolutism sexual value due to religious reasoning. No sex until marriage can ultimately kill a relationship in this day in age unless the two people are in love. I believe that no sex before marriage is a great idea because it prevents people having children together and the other parent leaving the other parent to raise the child alone. People may go into college with this sexual value but I believe that by their senior year they have thrown it out of the window especially if they attend any of the parties. I have never met anyone with this sexual value but mothers always tell their daughters to use it. This sexual value brings in the discussion of obedience. Although in “The Dilemma of Obedience” Stanley Milgram defines obedience as compliance required by authority it can also be connected with authority being God or a parent. I believe that obedience to a religion or parent can be one of the hardest things to do because sometimes one may want to rebel against everything that they were taught. This sexual value shows that there are still people who have obedience and control over what is right and acceptable to complete their religious virtues. Religion is highly practiced among people in the world but most people do not take every aspect of it seriously. They may use one part for their gain but disregard another part because it does not go along with their lifestyle. Having sex before marriage is a sin in almost every religion; everyone who is religious and did not answer with this form of sexual value has disobeyed their religion. Although I believe that religion is important and should always be obeyed I believe that judgment should be done by anyone but god because everyone has committed their sin.
Sexual values are something that a person can decide upon using multiple factors within their everyday life. They have the option to freely involve themselves intercourse as well as the option to not have intercourse until they are married. One decision may not be ethically right to another person but it can be acceptable to the next. Everyone makes different decisions and everyone does not need a connection emotionally to involve themselves sexually with someone.
