Next, by applying the HERproject into the factories in Bangladesh, the factories rewards a healthy return in the aspect of improvement of productivity, stable workforce, lower absenteeism, decreased labour turnover, improved quality and a reduction in housekeeping costs. These can be seen whenever the female workers was working in the healthy environment and this can increase their morale and loyalty towards the factories. For example by applying HERproject into the factories, the productivity is increasingly day by day when the workers were looking after themselves better.
Furthermore, HERproject enables the women to communicate effectively on health matter that builds trust and confidence on each other. This leads the employees to have a better communication with the supervisor or even managers. This improved teamwork and the motivation to accept more responsibility and leadership roles in the community indeed. For example, the managers of factories would have a better communication with the employees and this improving their relationship.
Lastly, HERproject encourages the local women to learn and understand the health concern of the local culture so that they can apply it for practical knowledge and personal self-confidence. This is because local women are more understand to the local culture compare to outsiders. They are more understand towards local women problems and issue so they can solve it based on their experience and the understanding towards to the local culture or belief.
Question 4: Evaluate to what extent you think Primark has been able to reconcile the interests of its shareholders and those of the employees of its supplies.
An internal stakeholder is simply an individual or entity of some kind that has a vested interest in the success of an organization. These are primarily people who stand to be directly affected by the profitability of the company, such as employees and stockholders, although they might also be board members, donors, and trade unions.
The more income the company generates, the better off these individuals are as a result. Employees may receive increased wages and other bonuses when the company’s bottom line is looking good, for instance, and stockholders can watch as their initial investments grow to sizeable amounts, possibly even resulting in the occasional dividend payment.
Ideally, everyone gets along when employees feel appreciated through their pay and work while stakeholders reap profits. However, conflicts occur when the trust breaks down. Specifically, a shareholder may want to take money out of the company and the employees may feel a bonus for employees would be a better use of the money.
Primark human resources department is interesting in produce low cost garments. To achieve a win-win situation, I think Primark shareholders are very well in selecting the right managers to manage the company and give sufficient compensation. Besides that, the competition inside Primark must be fierce and employees wanted to avoid the threat of firing. Therefore, the managers and employees are willing to work hard for the company and HERproject are implemented by the marketing department.
Primark employees and supplies like improving theirs life or companies and they have more fidelity to Primark because educational program has empowerment affect, woman can be leaders on their communities. Employees with better education, they are more productive and independent. Primark not only make the HERproject for the employees, they need the project for lower the cost of production as well as increase the quality of products.
