Germany also attempted to take over USSR(Soviet Union) but they failed. In June 1944, Britain and America, launched the D-Day invasion, and they landed in conquered France, on the coast of Normandy, and Germany then retreated from their side too, by early 1945, Allied forces were closing in on Germany from both coasts. The USSR were the first to reach the German capital of Berlin, and this made Germany surrender, shortly after Adolf Hitler had killed himself. On December 7th, 1941, Japan launched a surprise attack on the United States in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Japan believed in the Samurai Code, which means they did not believe in surrendering to the enemy. But when the United States dropped two atomic bombs on two Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagaski, Japan gave up two days after.

Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945, ending the war in Europe. The war in the Pacific did not end until after the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on Japan — the only time such bombs were ever used in war. Japan surrendered on August 14, 1945.The Yalta Conference was a meeting of British prime minister Winston Churchill, Soviet premier Joseph Stalin, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt early in February 1945 as World War II was winding down, this meeting was to discuss the post war in Europe.

In conclusion World War II was one of the most inhumane, destructive and biggest wars on record. Though many damages were caused, there were many social improvements after this war, such as job openings for women and African Americans. War is a trecherous thing, but you can never predict what the aftermath will be like.
