Someone introduced many amendments in search of an alternative action by putting the flag in a glass display at its current location and planting a jessamine which is the state flower near the flag pole. Simply finding another flag to replace the Confederate flag which could be another war flag. Some suggested to flying the flag once a year as another alternative. While other consider the Confederate flag has no alternative history.
In conclusion, this was a very sad tragedy in Charleston and our nation .Many other states are removing the flag along with other flags such as rebel battle flags. Yes the flag represent heritage but because different hate groups use it as a symbol to represent hate and racism. The flag should not be removal for racism but because of the embarrassment and the hurt it cause to all American as a whole. Many say the flag was remove for politeness by which many of the people would disagree. The way different people say the flag symbolize is just pure ignorance. Still today this controversy about the confederate flag is an ongoing matter. People need to learn their history before making speculation about an important part of history. Many people who support the flag as heritage should not be forgotten. By removing showed great courage and respect to defeat a purpose to end years of hatred and racism. What a positive outcome to a devastating situation.
