Aeropostale operates in a market where attitudes and behaviours change quickly. This may force them to have to make changes in marketing, management and their products because of change in attitudes and preferences in the market (Shawn Grimsley, 2016).

Technological-

Aeropostales main market is in the United States where direct-to-consumer commerce is becoming incredibly popular (Abhijeet S, 2010). Development and improvement of technology and maximum utilization of the internet will positively impact e-commerce, fitting in with the trends in the market (Abhijeet S, 2010)

Executive Summary

Through a SWOT analysis, recommendations can be formed on what Aeropostale needs to do to find success again. Aeropostales youth brand, P.S. from Aeropostale, is one of their biggest strengths. P.S. serves a large market which is lacking in competition providing a lucrative opportunity to exploit. One of Aeropostales biggest weaknesses is their lack of an international presence. If Aeropostale were to expand internationally and establish their brand in wide open markets such as The Middle East they could generate high profits again.

Through a PEST analysis it is shown what external factors exist that can influence how successful Aeropostale will be. Aeropostales suppliers are located in areas where the government has distinct control over its legal system, allowing them to alter factors that influence Aeropostales profits, such as labor laws and environmental laws. Aeropostale has the majority of their retailers operating in a market where the economy has a significant amount of disposable income which benefits companies. Aeropostale has to deal with operating in a market where social behaviors and preferences are constantly changing. Aeropostale has to adapt with the growth of technological use in commerce such as the very popular direct-to-consumer commerce.
