Even though his own father did not kill him with his own hands the apple he threw at him eventually killed Greg, he was weak and that caused him to die. When Gregor died his family had no sadness and found his death as a relief to their lives. When the cleaning lady found Gregor dead his father reaction to his death was “now we can thank god” expressing as if Greg was burden and not a son to him. The family later found out they had more money then they ever thought they did. Once Greg was dead everything laid out as if Gregor was the obstacle on the way of his family. They never showed an interest in Gregors interests, they never took care of him and once he was dead they acted as if he didn’t matter in their lives.

The family had no interest into curing Gregor because to them he was just an obstacle and just another individual to provide for them. His parents did not act like Gregor mattered to them and they did not find curing him necessary based on their action to Greg’s transformation.

When Grete said “we have get rid of him “she showed that Gregor did not mean anything to her and he was just an insect and not her brother. The father never acted like he cared about what Gregor was going through the transformation and his mother avoided seeing him at any costs and his sister was fed up with feeding and cleaning up after Gregor was transformed into an insect. They had no interest in curing nor caring for Gregor because they found him as a burden and now that he would not be able to provide for them anymore he was no use to them and their financial needs.
