life we call technology is not free and not everyone is able to use it. Many people love technology and all it entails and have to use some form of it everyday. Most people could be classified as addicted to their phones or having an obsession with social media. But for those who can’t afford these pricey gadgets are really struggling. In this day and age, if an individual doesn’t have a phone, they are in real trouble. Pay phones are quite rare in most places and in order to even use technology, wifi or a cellular network is needed. Some people just can’t afford this items and some people straight up don’t want to use all these complicated tools and prefer simple phones that hang on the wall. With the price technology has put on itself, it is only available to those who can afford it; people who don’t have access to technology are not able to keep up with society. If everyone needs a computer for work and x-amount of people can’t afford it, then those people are not able to get a job. This cycle can be seen as kind of survival of the fittest; if you have access to technology, you can get farther in life and get the most out of life.
With the many different perspective on technology mentioned, I have my own view of how technology has affected us and whether it is a good or bad thing. To me, technology is important, necessary, helpful, and even an enjoyable part of life. But I do believe that while it has connected us to many things and opened up new opportunities, it has created this barrier between people when interacting face to face. Naturally, people would have to talk to one another for any reason, but with phones, a simple text is all it takes. This causes people to lose the ability to talk to others, have emotion, and react appropriately. People become concerned with the amount of likes their Instagram picture got or the newest show on Netflix. I think technology is great and has added positive things such as entertainment, safety, and the ability to connect with people from around the world, but it has also stopped us from taking walks outside, doing some yard work, and having real conversations with people. Technology is good thing, but too much of it is not. Everything, including technology, should be used in moderation. Therefore, I do agree that technology has done a lot for us and our world is better for it, but at the same time, it has caused some negative affects such as how people would rather text over screen than have a conversation with someone in person.
Overall, technology has had many affects, good and bad, that have changed the way our society works. And our society will continue to change as long as we have technology in the picture. More things will be invented, researched, created, and talked about. Technology allows us to continually improve virtually everything around us if we use it the right way. Technology can be seen as a positive feature in our lives, as it has helped make live better in many ways. It can also be seen as a negative feature by how it makes life lived on a screen rather than in person. No matter what someone thinks about technology, it is in everyday life and has good and bad effects, just like everything else. I wouldn’t choose to get rid of technology, but I also wouldn’t want everything to be online either. Despite the different perspective on technology, it can be agreed upon that it does affect everyday life whether you use it or not.
